I was the original photographer for 99blocks, a local magazine that is now going out of business after almost five years. The experience I gained there as a full-time photographer was invaluable, and I am grateful to the publisher, Bill Hancock, for the opportunity.
These are two of the photos that helped me land the job after a test shoot. It my was first day out with a dSLR camera and asking strangers if I could take their photo, with the exception of taking photos to go with my radio stories, but that is a post for a different day.
This was my first “Downtown Digs” photo spread in the first issue. It was always one of my favorites.
